I remember calling you on the phone on your birthday Jan 7, 2005. I wanted to be the first person to wish you Happy Birthday, so I called you around 7:00am. When you answered the phone, I began to sing "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you....Happy.......and you said "MOM.....I'm sleeping, please call me later.....I finished the song anyway...."Happy Birthday dear Kevin...Happy Birthday to YOU". You were a tad annoyed that I had called so early, and woke you up before your alarm went off.
I will sing the birthday song to you tomorrow, how I wish you were here to be annoyed that I called so early.
I love you son, and miss you even more.

Have you seen your Xmas stocking on the mantle this year, I've thought of a way to remember and honor you this Xmas. I've sent out an email asking my friends and co-workers to send a Texas scratch off in the hopes of winning some $$ to give as a scholarship to a student studying pharmacy. Jeff and I will have the honor of "scratching" Christmas morning. I live to keep your memory alive son....it's all I have...all I'm able to do. I hope you're proud of me, and I have a feeling you're the one that put the idea in my head. Keeping the faith that a deserving students' school life will be a little easier because of YOU.
